Already a follower :) I don't know personally anyone in the military but I am so proud of them for their sacrifices and keeping America safe and free. This weekend is extra special because it marks another year I came to this country. Thanks for the chance to win :)
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm already a follower. I'm thinking of my grandfather who was in WW1. He came from Italy, became a US citizen and was so proud to fight for his new country.
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing okay now after your accident. Good luck with the physical therapy.

Hi Brynn,
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and I always put up my flag in memory of my Uncle Martin who died in the Korean War. He was 21 years old. It was so sad because after he died my mom recieved a letter from him saying "today is my birthday, I'm 21 years old" He was her baby brother and she loved him dearly. I still look at that tear stained letter & photo of him, someday, I will scrap about it.

My father is a Vietnam veteran and in recent years has begun to tell us stories of his service. It is truly a miracle that he made it home safely.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower. Thank you for the chance to win.
I am thinking of my amazing boyfriend who is a marine currently serving this wonderful country in Afghanistan. I miss him very much and he has been gone since February and will not return until September. I am also thinking of my brother who is also serving in Afghanistan. I just started following you. Very new to this whole blog thing but very excited to be a part of it and see everyones wonderful creations.
ReplyDeleteHappy Memorial Day! This day makes me take a step back and reflect on my Uncle Ed. He received the Congressional Medal of Honor during the Korean War. But it also makes me never want to forget all those who have served in the US military for us.

Hope all is well with you and you are enjoying the first official holiday weekend of summer. What do I remember? I remember when my son joined the navy...the fear and the pride I felt. I remember my dad who served in the Air Force, my husband-retired Army and my step-son who served with the Marines for 15 years and is now in Afghanistan working for the State Department..his 3rd year. I think of all of the returning troops suffering with TBI's (Traumatic Brain Injuries) and how devastating this is for not only the soldier, but their families.
