I was born and raised in southeast Kansas, and there really is NO PLACE LIKE HOME!
I you're going though, you'll want to be sure to go to 'the exact middle of the United States,' THE WORLD'S LARGEST BALL OF TWINE, and of COURSE, Dorthy's house (located in Liberal.
This Layout features my Wizard Of Oz collection, with special attention given to a TON of symbolism....
I created the YELLOW BRICK ROAD base page with a glue pen and gold embossing powder, the photo mat is in the shape of the state, of course, the RAINBOW (though we actually see more of those here in New Mexico), A hand sewn tornado-or TWISTER, blue and white gingham paper to resemble Dorthy's dress, and the letters are stickled to sparkle like ruby slippers!
I cherish the snow globe pictured here. It plays 'Somewehere Over the Rainbow' and clicks the slippers together! It was my going away gift when my best friend Chrissy threw my surprise party!
This photo is of my sweet daughter, at home on our family farm. The John Deere tractor is my grandpas.
It really is a state of agriculture, harvesting mostly wheat and milo.
Thank you for taking the time to visit today! Please be sure to be entered in my Blog Hop Blog Candy, consisting of a Hot Fudge layout kit, 2 complete BRAND NEW stamp sets from The Angel Company, A Cuttlebug die-cut and beautiful package of blue acrylic accents from Queen and Co. !!! I'd love if you decided to follow me in this amazing creative journey-and comment on the previous post for additional prizes and entries!
Your next stop is Erin in the BIG APPLE! (Kansas has a Manhattan city, known as THE LITTLE APPLE)! ;) http://www.spantastikreations.blogspot.com/ (Please give her EXTRA love, as my post was delayed this am from a stomach virus :( )
